The Tempisque River is the center of this experience. You board a boat and move quietly through a landscape where wetlands, riverbanks, and tropical dry forest meet.
Because the boat does the moving, your attention can stay on the wildlife. The guide watches branches, shoreline, and water for crocodiles, monkeys, iguanas, herons, egrets, kingfishers, raptors, and other species associated with the area.

Leave the coast behind and travel toward Bijagua, where the landscape becomes greener, cooler, and more humid. This day combines rainforest and wildlife with local culture and a relaxed waterfall stop, giving you much more than a single nature walk.
The guided rainforest portion focuses on the ecosystem itself and the wildlife that may appear along the way. Depending on the day, your guide may help you spot birds, monkeys, sloths, reptiles, insects, and other rainforest species while explaining the plants and natural history of the area.
The experience then adds a local coffee and chocolate visit, where you learn more about two products closely connected to Costa Rican culture and agriculture. A traditional wood-fired Costa Rican lunch is also part of the day.

The included activities are operated on separate days and do not need to be consecutive. During the booking process, you will choose the date for each activity and the order in which you would like to experience the tours. This lets you build the package around your own travel schedule instead of following a fixed itinerary.

Green Tours CR will follow the dates and order selected during booking whenever available. If weather, park operations, river or ocean conditions, or supplier availability require an adjustment, we will contact you to coordinate the best alternative.
Each tour keeps its normal age limits, mobility requirements, minimum participation rules, inclusions, meeting points, and safety conditions. The advantage of the package is simpler coordination and a better combined price.
Pickup & Transportation
Transportation is included when it is normally included in the individual tour. ATV and the sunset catamaran do not include transportation and keep their normal meeting-point arrangements. If you would like private transportation added for those activities, contact us before booking.
